Blog text not appearing

Hi,

I have tried to create the 2 column table as per your help instructions. All works great except for the most recent post. The Title, author and date all appear ok but nothing for the blog itself (using [ENTRY]).

The other three blogs work fine, just not the top left. My template looks like this:

Header
Read what's happening in the lives of our bloggers.<BR>
<table width=100%><tr valign="top">

Item
<td width=50%><P><H2 class="blog_title"><a href="/tabid/804/entryid/[ITEMID]/default.aspx">[TITLE]</a></H2><BR>[USERNAME] [ADDEDDATE] Commnent ([COMMENTCOUNT])</P>
<P>[ENTRY]</P></td>

Seperator
</tr><tr valign="top">

Repeat Every
2

Footer
</tr></table><P><A Href="/tabid/804/default.aspx">Read more blogs</A></P>

Thanks

Liz

PS As an aside, a great feature would be the ability to export/import the whole template for easier sharing of templates

Re: Blog text not appearing

Liz, check the summary for that blog entry, and make sure there aren't any stray characters in the summary box.  Sounds like there's some spaces or something.

Re: Blog text not appearing

I did wonder that, but I went in and checked for any summary characters and there weren't any - the summary text is completely empty.

I will ask the blogger to republish (we are using WLW) and see if that makes a difference.

The other three blogs are a mix of having summaries and not having summaries - so both scenario obviously works.

Thanks

Liz

Re: Blog text not appearing

BlogDisplay will automatically use the [DESCRIPTION] if available, otherwise, it will use the first N characters of the [ENTRY] as specified in the module settings.  [ENTRY] is the tag typically used.

Re: Blog text not appearing

Hi,

The problem has gone away be default that the problem blog is no longer one of the most recent posts, but I was not able to fix this. Unless it happens again it isn't an issue - reposting the blog made no difference - mystery.

Thanks

Liz
